About

Lawyer Parent Advocate

Lawyer   I graduated with high honors from the University of Texas School of Law. I clerked for the Utah Supreme Court, Utah Court of Appeals, Texas Supreme Court, and United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. I previously worked in the national appellate practice of a top-ranked firm, Weil Gotshal & Manges. I also chaired Ray Quinney & Nebeker's Appellate Practice Group. I now provide appellate, legal writing, and consulting support to clients in Utah and law firms across the country.

Parent   When I became a parent, I stepped down from my role in Weil Gotshal & Manges Supreme Court & Appellate Litigation Practice. When I returned to the practice of law, I brought with me an understanding that people, ethics, and values should remain my highest priority.

Advocate   I have had the opportunity to see first-hand the challenges neurodivergent youth encounter. As a result, I became an advocate for ensuring these young people have the tools they need to reach their potential. I founded My Place ING LLC, which offers academic, social, and other services to neurodivergent youth.

Approach

Informed Objective Respected

I strive to provide objective perspective to clients regarding the likelihood of success and the steps and costs of the appellate process.

I seek to be a respected resource to decisionmakers who can rely on my research and perspective.

I bring perspective founded on engagement with judges and top-tier advocates, as well as service on the Utah Supreme Court's Advisory Committee on the Rules of Appellate Procedure.

I believe judges find clear, well-founded legal arguments to be persuasive and do not appreciate insults or attacks on courts, opposing parties, or opposing counsel.

I recognize the burdens litigants face when navigating the legal system and strive to be a reliable counselor and advocate through the legal process.

I view ethical representation and straightforward advocacy as essential to my practice.
